BATB Chapter 25

Parker is very good at cooking. The flavor of the roasted meat with seasonings is no worse than that of Bai Qingqing’s roasted meat yesterday. Bai Qingqing also ate a little, and Parker devoured the rest.

Not realizing that she had eaten several meals in a row, Bai Qingqing panicked, then she happened to see Eve walking outside and told Parker, “I’ll go meet Eve.”

Parker glanced at Eve and thought that Bai Qingqing wouldn’t dare to run away if she’s with her. He let Qingqing follow Eve and get familiar with the tribe. He agreed: “Then don’t go too far.”

Because Eve’s males weren’t there, Parker was embarrassed to join them.

“Got it.” Bai Qingqing still remembers about the feral beast. It gave her enough courage to dare not to leave the tribe alone. She waved at Eve.

Eve was carrying a small rattan basket. When she sees Bai Qingqing, she immediately greeted her cheerfully, “Qingqing!”

Bai Qingqing smiled and looked at Eve’s basket. There were three cute kittens in it. “Your little cats?”

She thought Eve was going to pick wild fruits and vegetables with her basket.

“Pfff!” Eve couldn’t help but laugh, lifting the basket and teasing the “little cats” inside: “They’re not cats. These are my leopard cubs.”

“……” Bai Qingqing’s expression was stiff. She gaped and looked inside the basket in awe. Only then did she find that the light pattern on them was leopard animal pattern, which was about the size of a local adult cat. But when she looked at them carefully, she found that they were still very young, and all were whining.

Bai Qingqing restrained the surprised look on her face and said with a dry laugh: “ha ha.. I haven’t seen a leopard cub before. I’m sorry.”

“It’s OK. Leopard cubs look like kittens. It’s not surprising that you mistook them for cats.” Eve couldn’t help laughing. As they walked by the ravine, she said, “They’ve been weaned for two months. They’re not old enough to run in the tribe. If there’s a situation where I have to rush to the river, I have to take them to the grassland outside the tribe for a while when the sun is not shining.”

Bai Qingqing nodded in agreement, but her heart felt like there’s a group of grass and mud horses running wildly.

Wow, the beasts are really like animals! Weaned in two months! Don’t these cubs change into humans? Will there be a scene of a group of human babies running around on all fours?

Whoops, that scene…

“Uhm… Will they become humans?” Bai Qingqing curiously asked.

Eve gave Bai Qingqing a strange look. “Male beasts need to grow up into adults before they can change into their human forms. How can you not even know that?”

Bai Qingqing’s heart tightened. Before she could figure out how to explain it, she heard Eve say, “Did your family protect you so well? They won’t let you out?”

Because of Bai Qingqing’s lovely white complexion, Eve has always thought that Qingqing is a well-bred female in a dominant race. It’s said that that kind of female doesn’t go out very often and lacks common sense.

Bai Qingqing nodded repeatedly, went down the slope of the donkey road and said, “Well, my family doesn’t allow me to have casual contact with males. I don’t have brothers, so I don’t know this.”

“No wonder you only know a female born in human form. You haven’t seen a male cub before. It would be normal to think so.” Eve only thought that Bai Qingqing was as simple as a child. She couldn’t help laughing at her stupid thoughts. “You can ask me later on anything you don’t understand.”

The female born is already in a human shape. Bai Qingqing secretly wrote it down in her head. She hasn’t seen a female change, and Parker never asks her to change, so that means female only has a human form.

“OK.” Bai Qingqing thought about it and asked conservatively, “Are there fewer females in each tribe than males?”

Eve sighed helplessly: “Yes, because we have too few females, so the number of beasts can’t increase, and we barely able to hold it at a minimum.”
